Making new work at van Tetterode

On Friday I was back at van Tetterode studio here in Amsterdam, working on some new pieces. What a great space! The blowing area has a glass ceiling that can be opened in good weather and the furnace is in an area loaded with old color samples and tools. It has the lived-in hardworking feeling of an old glass studio, and that is a good atmosphere for getting work done. These are some photos of the space and of the pieces that made it. For some reason today, probably because of working in a new space and getting used to the airflow and my timing, I had quite a few that burst in to flames and burned through. The risk is part of the interest in doing these, I like that I have to stay alert.
